Why it matters

A central vacuum sends everything you pick up through pipes inside your walls to a canister in the garage or basement. Those pipes and that canister are never cleaned by the system itself — over the years, fine dust cakes the pipe walls, the filter blinds over, and suction quietly drops off until the unit feels worn out when it isn't.

Signs you need this

  • Noticeably weaker suction than when it was installed
  • A stale or musty smell from the inlets
  • The motor running louder or hotter than it used to
  • The canister has never been serviced or the filter never changed

How we clean

We work the pipe network from the inlets back toward the power unit, clearing the packed dust that lines the walls of each run, then service the unit itself — canister emptied and washed, filter cleaned or swapped, motor intake cleared. Each inlet is tested for suction at the end so we can confirm the whole network is open, not just the closest run.

What it changes

Suction comes back to what it was on day one, and the stale-air smell at the inlets goes away with the dust that was causing it. A motor pulling through a clean filter also runs cooler and lasts materially longer than one fighting a blinded one.
